High Five Color Game

IMG_3176

If you have a toddler i’m positive you have plenty of days where you are looking for new activities to keep them busy. Today was one of those days here. I decided to come up with a scheduled set of activities for my 3 year old focused around colors over the next week. Our first activity was this super cute (and easy!) hand print high five game. Learning should happen through play at this age so it’s important to find activities that are fun and playful rather then overly structured. All you need to make this activity are scissors, tape, colored paper and a pencil.

First we traced my son’s handprint onto different colored pieces of paper, next we cut them out and then taped them to the wall. I cut out his handprints and while I was doing that he practiced his cutting on another piece of paper. After the prints were taped to the wall we played the high five game. I simply said a color and told him to high five it. He had a blast doing this and I can tell he was learning the new colors pretty quickly. Amazing how fast those young minds can learn!

I discovered this activity on the Lets Tot School page, she has TONS of activities on her blog. Each week she has a different theme and suggests related activities. I also follow her on Instagram for more fun toddler activities.

You can follow our Pinterest board here to see what other fun learning games we have been up to. What are you working on this week with your toddler?
