Holiday Gift Guide – for the Outdoorsy Family

Holiday Gift Guide for the Outdoorsy Family

Know an adventurous family, but aren’t sure what to get them for the Holidays? We are here to help! We’ve rounded up our top products that any outdoorsy family will love and appreciate.

1. Solemates I love these products for so many reasons as hiker, but let me first point out that they are vegan and cruelty free! Solemates makes a variety of products tailored for the active family. We all know how painful blisters can be when hiking, but Solemates has the solution. Stinky hiking boots? They’ve got a product for that too. Solemates are the perfect stocking stuffers

2. Alpine Starts Instant Coffee – I’m always looking for fun stocking stuffers and add ons to gifts, so when I came across these instant coffees I thought they would be perfect for this guide.  I don’t actually drink coffee (i’m a tea kinda girl), but my husband taste tested these and he agrees with others that these are the best instant coffees on the market!  Do I need to say anything more? No need to lug the coffee carafe around any longer!

3. LaCie Rugged SSD – So, sore subject for me- I recently (as in last week) lost everything on my computer including videos and photos from the past few years of travel and adventure with my family.  I still feel sick to my stomach about it, but this could have all been avoided had I used an external hard drive like this LaCie one to back up my computer.  I would make this gift a priority for any adventurous loved one who doesn’t currently have some form of an external hard drive.

4. GoFish Cam– This is a really neat product for the fisherman, or woman, in your life.  It’s an underwater camera that goes directly on your fishing line and enables you to record the fish you catch and the ones you don’t.  You can view the footage via their app.  I’m excited to surprise my husband and kids with this!

5. Woom Bike – We have been fans of the Woom Bike since we first learned of them almost 2 years ago.  They are incredibly lightweight bikes meant to get kids riding with ease.  In fact, our youngest learned to ride a pedal bike without ever needing training wheels when he turned 3 years old.   If you’re serious about getting a quality bike built for kids, look no further than Woom.

6. Mystery Tackle Box – Another gift sure to please the fisherman in your life.  The concept of the mystery tackle box is that each month you’ll be mailed a package (3 sizes to choose from) containing some surprise fishing items.  The box we received has a few lures and a neck scarf.  My family will love this!

7. Fit Snack – Fit Snack is a monthly subscription box that delivers healthier snack choices straight to your door.  I love this because not only does it encourage healthier eating in my family, but it introduces us to new products and allows us to taste test them before committing to the full size bag in the store.  This is a great gift to surprise the hiker, fitness buff or any adventurous and health conscious recipient with.

8. Nomader Collapsible Water Bottle – I love this collapsible water bottle for so many reasons.  First, it’s a great gift for a traveler because it can fold up incredibly tiny and fit into any bag.  For example, when we traveled to Iceland this would have been ideal to stick in our suitcase and pull out once we arrived and could take advantage of the endless fresh (and free!) drinking water in Iceland.  It’s also a great gift for the hiker because it can collapse so small and save space in a backpack.

9. Well Journal – I’m really excited about this journal!  It’s a 12 week journal that helps motivate and chart your fitness and diet progress, but it’s about more than just numbers and weight loss.  It provides inspirational quotes and a mood tracker as well.  I’ve already started using it and I’m feeling like this physical journal will be the key to me sticking with a consistent workout plan and healthier eating.

10. Wrist Locker – Such a unique and genius product!  Have you ever headed out for a walk or quick hike and found yourself with nowhere to put your keys or cell phone?  I’ve done this plenty of times and thankfully wrist locker has come to my rescue.  It’s a sleek and comfortable.  Check out their other unique products, like the headband for storage!

12. Jam Audio Bluetooth Speaker – We are big fans of Jam Audio products in my house.  They are portable speakers that connect via bluetooth to your phone.  The quality is amazing, we use these on hikes, at the beach and even in our backyard while hanging out by the pool.  They come in many sizes and shapes, plus they are durable, waterproof and sand proof!

13. Trail Buddy Trekking Poles – For the hiker in your life these trekking poles make the perfect gift.  They are lightweight, affordable and great quality.  We’ve put many miles on our poles and they’ve held up great.  I tend to overthink our hiking gear and correlate price with quality, but in this case the opposite is true- these are an incredibly affordable yet durable option.  You can outfit the entire family for the price of just one set of more expensive poles.  Pair this with a local hiking guide and you’ll make any hiker happy this holiday season.

14. 28 Collective Hiker Bag I love personalized gifts, so this hiking bag caught my eye immediately! What a unique gift to give to the adventurer on your gift list. It has several pockets and the quality is amazing. It would make a great diaper bag as well!

Let us know if you have any other great gift ideas for the outdoorsy family.  In our house we are really big on gifting experiences and travel. Happy Holidays!
