Popcorn vs popcorn ceilings; it’s really a shame that popcorn is given a bad name due to those once fashionable popcorn ceilings. Our old home had popcorn ceilings in just about every room, those previous homeowners took that trend a big too far! If you’ve ever had popcorn ceilings you know that they can be quite a nightmare to remove. You cannot just paint over them nor can you usually remove the texture without damaging the drywall underneath. So, that basically leaves you with a total drywall gut job and from experience let me tell you that is one messy job especially if the attic is above. Why might that make it more difficult? Well friends, imagine ripping out the popcorn ceiling and having millions of attic insulation particles rain down on you- dirty, unhealthy and just plain messy.

Now for the good news, there is hope for all of you popcorn ceiling and damaged drywall sufferers! Heck, even if you don’t have popcorn ceilings you might want to stay tuned in because the Armstrong Ceilings i’m about to talk about are a seriously easy and beautiful way to transform your home.

The Armstrong Ceilings Country Classic Plank and Easy Up installation tracks are a gorgeous way to cover up your unsightly textured or damaged ceilings. If you’ve watched Fixer Upper this product will be right up your alley. It’s basically like shiplapping you ceiling. Although our new home has 0 textured ceilings (yay!) I’m planning to put this in our laundry room once we get to that part of our home renovation. It adds style to any room without hassle and the price point is very reasonable.
