Fun Summer Activities for Kids in Philadelphia + Giveaway

School is officially out for my oldest son, and as we head into a three-month long hiatus it’s important for us to find ways to satisfy his curiosity in the world with fun summer activities. These days his adventurous spirit loves exploring, drawing and creating monsters and the history of dinosaurs — anything hands-on will keep his interest for hours (and gives mama a break from entertaining!).

We were so excited when Snapology opened in nearby Philadelphia. Snapology integrates STEM and art education into summer activities for kids, meaning he’s learning about technology, math and science while playing with LEGO® bricks and K’Nex®. They use a research-based approach that proves the best way to learn is through interactive play. A win-win for all the parents out there who want their kids to keep their ability to learn sharp over the long summer months! Not sure why STEM is important? Check out this helpful blog for more information.

Instead of watching hours of his favorite dinosaur movie on repeat at home, he can learn about robotics, become a “Junior Scientist” and more while using LEGO® bricks – the same toys he uses at home for summer activities. At home, my 4-year-old makes different dinosaurs with his LEGO® bricks – at Snapology, he can use the same kind of bricks to stretch his mind and learn about different STEM skills.

While we’re in Philadelphia, we always take time to explore the history of the city, keeping in tune with a learning-centric summer activity-filled day. We visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and historic statues. But, it’s clear the best part of the day is visiting Snapology and learning new skills he can practice at home with his own LEGO® set.

To celebrate the opening of Snapology in Philadelphia we are giving away a LEGO® brick set of the Snapology Mascot Sebastian Gator! To enter just leave a comment below, we will randomly pick the winner and notify you via email. Good luck!
